Hospitality Staffing Agency in Sydney. On demand, shift by shift

BBlog Admin 7 min read

Sydney hotels are still short-staffed. We help you fill the gap without a long-term contract.

Sydney's hospitality industry has been running short on people since 2020, and the pressure has not eased. Chef vacancies still sit above pre-pandemic levels, casual reliability is a constant question mark, and one no-show on a Friday night can undo a week of guest scores.

Most hotel managers we speak to are not looking for another traditional labour hire company. They are looking for a way to fill a shift before service starts and know the person walking through the door has been trained, checked and briefed.

That is what InfyWorx was built to do. We are a hospitality staffing agency headquartered in Mascot, minutes from Sydney Airport, and we supply on-demand staff to hotels, restaurants, function venues and commercial kitchens across greater Sydney. Every worker on our platform is pre-screened, credentialled and rated after every shift. You post the shift, we match it, and you approve the roster from one dashboard. That is the whole idea behind our tagline, Tap. Staff. Go.

What we cover across Sydney hospitality

Hotels are our home ground. InfyWorx supplies housekeeping teams, front office staff, food and beverage crews, kitchen brigades and maintenance tradespeople to properties across greater Sydney. Our talent has worked in IHG, Marriott, Accor, Mantra, Pullman, Novotel and Moxy sites in the city, which means most of them arrive already familiar with the brand standards and PMS systems your team runs.

We also work with restaurants, bars, function centres, catering companies, corporate offices, aged care providers and serviced apartment groups. The staffing model is the same across all of them: no long-term contracts, no minimum bookings, and the ability to scale from a single-shift cover to an ongoing weekly roster.

How on-demand hospitality staffing works with InfyWorx

The whole process is designed around getting a shift filled without you chasing a recruiter on the phone.

STEP 01

Post the shift

Through your dashboard or by calling your account manager. Tell us the role, property, date, hours and any brand-specific requirements.

STEP 02

We match & confirm

The shift is offered to available, credentialled workers who match the role and location. You see confirmations in real time.

STEP 03

Approve the roster

Before a worker starts, you see their profile, past ratings and current certifications (RSA, Food Safety Supervisor, First Aid, White Card).

STEP 04

Worker arrives briefed

They receive your property's arrival instructions, uniform requirements, key contact and any specific standard operating procedures.

STEP 05

Digital timesheet & invoice

Hours are captured through the app. You approve, we invoice weekly. No paper timesheets, no chasing.

Your dedicated account manager learns your property, your peak weeks and your service standards, so over time the same faces come back to your roster rather than a rotating cast of unknowns.

Response times you can plan around

Speed is only useful if it comes with the right person. Our published targets for the Sydney metropolitan area:

Vetting and compliance, built for Australian hospitality

Every worker on the InfyWorx platform is checked before they are visible to a client. Our screening process covers:

Right to work in Australia (visa or citizenship verification)

Two verified reference checks from previous hospitality employers

National Police Check for roles that involve access to guest rooms or handling cash

Working with Children Check where required

Role-specific credentials: RSA certification (Liquor & Gaming NSW) for bar and floor staff, Food Safety Supervisor certificate for kitchen and F&B, First Aid, White Card (SafeWork NSW) for maintenance trades, and current trade licences for electricians and plumbers

In-person or video skills interview

Uniform, presentation and punctuality standards signed off in onboarding

Award compliance and labour hire in NSW

We operate under the Fair Work Act and the Hospitality Industry (General) Award 2020. Wages are paid at award rates or above, with the correct 25% casual loading, penalty rates for weekends and public holidays, superannuation at the current ATO Super Guarantee rate and Single Touch Payroll reporting.

New South Wales does not currently run a general labour hire licensing scheme, so as a host business in Sydney you do not need a licence to use an agency. We voluntarily operate to the standards required in Queensland, Victoria and the ACT to keep the same compliance bar wherever our clients also operate. If you want a plain-English overview of what you are responsible for as the host business, the Fair Work Ombudsman also publishes clear guidance on your obligations when using labour hire.

Pricing that makes sense on your P&L

Agency hospitality staff always cost more per hour than a direct casual employee. That is how the model works. The gap is smaller than most operators think once you add super, casual loading, WorkCover, payroll tax, recruitment cost and the risk of a failed hire. Where InfyWorx keeps the total cost sensible is in the model:

No long-term contract. Pay only for hours worked. No monthly retainer.

No overtime margin trickery. Penalty rates pass through as the award requires them, with a single, published agency margin on top.

One invoice weekly. Time is captured through the app, approved by your team, invoiced Friday. No reconciling three agencies at month end.

Volume discount for ongoing rosters. Hotels running weekly rosters with InfyWorx pay a lower per-shift margin than one-off bookings.

The exact rate for your property depends on the role, day of the week, notice period and whether it is a one-off shift or part of an ongoing roster. A 15-minute demo with your actual staffing volumes will give you a real number against your current spend. That is the most honest way to price it, because generic hourly rates in a marketing page never survive contact with a real hotel roster.

Where in Sydney we send staff

Why Sydney hotels choose InfyWorx

Three things separate us from the older Sydney hospitality staffing agencies.

Hotels-first, not events-first

Most Sydney hospitality agencies were built for events and corporate functions. We were built for hotels. That means housekeeping ratios, PMS-trained front office staff and kitchen brigades who understand the rhythm of a 24/7 property.

Dashboard, not phone tag

Booking, timesheets and invoicing live in one place. Your night manager can post a 6am housekeeping request at midnight and see it filled before their shift ends.

The Infinity Group behind us

InfyWorx sits alongside Infinity Hospitality Management and Infinity Business Solutions. That means real hotel-operating experience across housekeeping, F&B and back-office finance, not a recruiter with a hospitality vertical bolted on.
