Night Auditor

About this service

A night auditor closes your trading day, balances the numbers and runs the front desk while everyone else sleeps. InfyWorx provides experienced, background-checked night auditors to hotels, resorts and serviced apartments across Australia. Cover a single shift, a run of leave or an ongoing overnight roster.

What does a hotel night auditor do?

They run the end of day process in your PMS, post room and tax charges, and balance revenue against payments taken during the day. They also work the front desk overnight, handling late arrivals, guest issues and wake-up calls. Most nights they are the only staff member on the property.

When to book a night auditor

Book one when your night audit is being run by a day staff member on a double, or when reconciliation errors keep landing on your finance team in the morning. Annual leave, resignations and long weekends are the usual triggers. Overnight roles are the hardest to fill internally and the most costly to leave uncovered.

What's included

  • End of day processing: Running the night audit in your PMS, rolling the business date and closing the trading day cleanly.
  • Revenue posting and balancing: Posting room charges, taxes and package components, then balancing revenue against payments taken across the day.
  • Cashier and payment reconciliation: Reconciling EFTPOS settlements, cash floats, credit card batches and outlet takings, and chasing anything that does not match.
  • No-show and cancellation handling: Processing no-shows, applying charges to policy and tidying the arrivals list before morning.
  • City ledger and account review: Checking high balance accounts, company charges and direct billing before they roll into the next day.
  • Overnight front desk service: Checking in late arrivals, handling departures, taking bookings and answering the phone through the night.
  • Guest issue resolution: Managing noise complaints, room moves, lockouts and requests without a manager on site.
  • Management reporting: Producing the daily flash report, occupancy and revenue summaries, and distributing them before the morning shift starts.
  • Property and security checks: Completing overnight walkarounds, checking access points and logging anything unusual.
  • Emergency and incident response: Following your emergency procedures, contacting the on-call manager and documenting every incident properly.
  • Morning shift handover: A clear written handover so the day team starts with a full picture, not a mystery.

Effectiveness

Accounts that balance every morning

An experienced auditor finds the variance overnight and fixes it. Your finance team starts the day with clean numbers instead of an investigation.

No more doubles and burnt-out day staff

Covering audit with a day receptionist on a double shift is expensive and unsustainable. It also puts your least-rested person in charge of your most detailed task.

Guests looked after through the night

Late flights, lockouts and noisy neighbours do not wait for business hours. A capable auditor handles them calmly and keeps the incident out of your reviews.

Overnight roles filled without the recruitment grind

Night audit is one of the hardest hotel roles to hire for and one of the highest turnover. We supply from a pool that already works these hours by choice.

Stronger audit trail and compliance

Correct posting, documented incidents and consistent reporting hold up when your owners, auditors or franchisor come looking.

Security cover while the property sleeps

Regular walkarounds and access checks reduce your overnight risk. Someone alert is on site, not just a phone number on a sign.

How it works

  1. Tell us how your night runs

We speak with your Front Office Manager or Rooms Division Manager about room count, PMS in use, audit start time, reporting requirements and whether the role is sole charge.

  2. We match the right auditor

We select from staff with proven night audit experience. Every candidate has verified work rights, a police check, checked references and confirmed overnight availability.

  3. Induction before day one

They are briefed on your PMS workflow, audit checklist, reporting distribution list, emergency procedures, on-call escalation and cash handling rules.

  4. They run the shift solo from night one

On time, uniform-compliant and confident on your system. No hand-holding and no calling your manager at 3am to ask where the flash report goes.

  5. We stay across performance

Your account manager reviews balancing accuracy, punctuality and handover quality with your Front Office Manager. If the fit is not right, we replace them.

  6. Scale with your roster

Add cover for leave, long weekends, conference periods and public holidays, then scale back when your permanent auditor returns.
