General Hand

About this service

Every site collects a list of jobs too small for a licensed trade and too easy to keep putting off. InfyWorx provides vetted, insured general hands to offices, hotels, retail sites and commercial buildings across Australia. Furniture moves, minor repairs, rubbish runs and everything in between, booked by the shift or on a recurring schedule.

What does a general hand service cover?

The core scope is furniture moving and assembly, minor repairs and touch-ups, rubbish and waste removal, and general site clean-up. Beyond that, a general hand can assist licensed trades onsite, handle loading and unloading, and support event setup and pack-down. Licensed work such as electrical, plumbing or gas is always referred to the right trade.

How often should you book a general hand?

Most clients book on-demand for a specific job list, whether that’s an office move, a stockroom clean-out or a pre-event setup. Sites with a steady backlog of small tasks often move to a recurring booking, such as one day a week or fortnight, so jobs get cleared before the list grows.

What's included

  • Furniture moving and assembly: Desks, shelving, flat-pack furniture and fit-out items moved, assembled or reconfigured on request.
  • Minor repairs and touch-ups: Loose fixtures, sticking doors, minor patchwork and small fixes that don’t need a licensed trade.
  • Rubbish and waste removal: Clearing offcuts, packaging, old furniture and general waste, and getting it to the collection point.
  • Site and yard clean-up: Tidying work areas, storerooms, loading docks and external grounds after a job or a move.
  • Loading and unloading deliveries: Receiving stock, materials and equipment deliveries and getting them to where they need to be.
  • Assisting trades onsite: Materials handling, holding, prepping and general support so your licensed trades keep moving.
  • Event setup and pack-down: Tables, chairs, signage and staging set up before an event and cleared away after it.
  • Storage and stockroom reorganisation: Sorting, shelving and reorganising storerooms, archives and stock areas.
  • Fixture and fitting installation: Non-licensed installs such as shelving, signage, coat hooks and simple fittings.
  • Gardening and grounds tidy-ups: Basic outdoor tidy-ups, weeding and grounds support for sites without a dedicated gardener.
  • Pressure washing support: General hand support for exterior tidy-ups and pressure washing jobs alongside our specialist crews.
  • Reporting and task sign-off: A completed task list and sign-off so you know exactly what was done and what’s left.

Effectiveness

Clears the backlog without a full-time hire

The list of small jobs that never quite gets done finally gets done, without adding headcount.

Frees up your trades to do trade work

Your electrician, plumber or carpenter isn’t the right person to be moving boxes. A general hand takes that off their plate.

One booking instead of five odd-job callouts

A single booking covers a whole list of unrelated small tasks, instead of chasing separate contractors for each one.

Vetted labour you can trust onsite

Your general hand works unsupervised around your building, stock and equipment. Every InfyWorx general hand is police-checked with verified work rights.

Flexible by the shift or the day

Book a single half-day for a one-off job, or set up a recurring shift for ongoing site support.

One contact instead of chasing a call centre

You get an account manager who knows your site. Issues get sorted in a phone call, not a ticket queue.

How it works

  1. Tell us the job list

Send through what needs doing, from a single task to a full day’s list, and we scope the time and skills required.

  2. Written quote and booking

You get a clear scope, an estimated duration and a fixed rate. No vague inclusions and no surprise charges on the day.

  3. General hand allocation and induction

We assign a suitable general hand and induct them on your site access, security and any specific instructions.

  4. Work happens onsite

Work happens after hours, before hours or during the day, whichever suits your site and the job at hand.

  5. Task sign-off and reporting

You get a completed task checklist so you know exactly what was covered before the general hand leaves site.

  6. Book again or set a recurring schedule

Book the next job as it comes up, or set a recurring shift so small tasks never pile up again.
