Tile Scrubbing

About this service

Tiles rarely fail. Grout does, and it takes the whole floor down with it. InfyWorx provides commercial tile and grout scrubbing to hotels, kitchens, retail centres and care facilities across Australia, using machines and chemistry that actually shift the build-up.

What does tile and grout scrubbing involve?

The floor is degreased, then worked with rotary or cylindrical machines that drive the solution into the grout lines. Dirty solution is extracted rather than pushed to the edges, which is the difference between a clean floor and a wet one. Edges, corners and skirting are done by hand, because no machine reaches them properly.

How often should commercial tiles be scrubbed?

Commercial kitchens usually need machine scrubbing monthly or quarterly, since grease and food soil build fast in quarry tile. Public bathrooms and pool surrounds sit around quarterly. Entries, food courts and back of house areas generally land on a two to four times a year cycle depending on traffic.

What's included

  • Floor and grout assessment: Identifying tile type, grout condition, sealing status and soil type before any chemical goes down.
  • Degreasing and pre-treatment: Correct chemistry applied and given dwell time, which is what actually breaks the bond rather than more scrubbing pressure.
  • Machine scrubbing: Rotary and cylindrical machines with the right pad or brush selection for the tile profile and grout depth.
  • Grout line restoration: Focused work along grout lines to lift embedded soil, grease and staining that mopping simply moves around.
  • Dirty solution extraction: Wet vacuum recovery so soil leaves the site instead of drying back into the grout and edges.
  • Edge, corner and skirting detail: Hand work along walls, kickboards, drains and under fixed equipment where machines cannot reach.
  • Kitchen floor degreasing: Quarry tile, cool room floors, prep areas and around fryers and cooking lines, worked to food safety standards.
  • Bathroom and wet area cleaning: Descaling, soap scum removal, mould treatment on grout and silicone, and shower and change room floors.
  • Pool surround and outdoor tile care: Removing algae, mineral deposits and organic build-up from wet areas and external paved surfaces.
  • Drain and channel cleaning: Floor wastes, strip drains and grates cleaned and flushed, since these are usually the source of the smell.
  • Sealing and protective treatment: Optional grout and tile sealing after cleaning to slow re-soiling and make daily cleaning easier.
  • Slip resistance improvement: Removing the grease and film that make tiles slippery, with anti-slip treatment available where the surface needs more.

Effectiveness

Slip risk brought down in the areas that matter

Most slips on tile happen because of a grease or soap film, not water alone. Removing that film is the cheapest safety improvement available to you.

Kitchen floors that pass inspection

Food safety auditors look at grout lines, drains and the space under equipment. Those are exactly the areas a mop never reaches.

Floors that look replaced, not resurfaced

Grout darkening is what makes a tiled floor look old. Restoring it often changes the whole room without touching a single tile.

Odour dealt with at the source

Persistent smells in kitchens and bathrooms usually live in grout, drains and floor wastes. Cleaning those beats spraying anything.

Easier daily cleaning afterwards

Once the build-up is gone and the grout is sealed, your daily crew gets a better result from the same effort.

Work planned around your operation

Kitchen and public area scrubbing runs overnight or on closed days so nothing stops trading.

How it works

  1. Site inspection and test patch

We inspect the floor, identify tile and grout type, and often run a small test patch so you can see the achievable result before committing.

  2. Written scope and quote

You get the areas, method, machine and chemical selection, expected result and any sealing recommendation, priced up front.

  3. Access and scheduling

Work is staged around trading hours, usually overnight or on a closed day, with equipment shutdown and isolation arranged where needed.

  4. Preparation and protection

Floors cleared, loose soil removed, drains protected and adjacent surfaces masked before chemicals are applied.

  5. Scrubbing and extraction

Degrease, dwell, machine scrub, detail the edges, then extract. Heavily soiled floors get a second pass rather than a stronger promise.

  6. Sealing, drying and handover

Optional sealing applied, floors dried and signed off with you, plus advice on daily maintenance that protects the result.
